The 26th World Youth Day took place last August in Madrid, Spain. The Friars of the Dominican Order of Ireland organised a pilgrimage to Spain for young Irish people from the 12th to the 22nd of August. In addition to the week spent in Madrid, the pilgrimage included a few initial days of sightseeing in Spain to places of cultural and religious significance e.g. St. Dominic’s birthplace and Salamanca.
